I am strongly committed to excellence in teaching and am constantly seeking to build on and refine my skills as an educator. My desire to contribute to the academic, professional, and personal development of students is demonstrated both by my strong teaching ratings and by the positive student feedback I received through Virginia Tech’s “Thank a Teacher” unsolicited feedback program. Throughout my own education I have benefited from outstanding teachers and I seek replicate the features that made my teachers’ courses successful in my own classroom. Thus, in addition to the effective communication of subject material, I have three main objectives: (1) help students develop their critical thinking skills, (2) engage and motivate students to become active participants in their learning, and (3) facilitate the connection of course concepts with concrete, relevant, real-world examples.

By far my favorite teacher I have had thus far. She went out of her way when I was struggling with a group project to help us stay on track and relieving me of some stress by ensuring I was not doing all the work myself. She made the material as interesting as she could and made it easy to pay attention. I really appreciated the study materials that she gave us and was always there to help when we did not understand something.

Outstanding class, my favorite class I have ever taken at Texas Tech. I have never seen a class where group work actually spawned productive and mentally stimulating discussion before this class. Outstanding job! I wish all my classes could be formatted and instructed by Dr. Rabino! Whoever is reading this please give her a raise, talent like hers needs to be recognized.

Professor Rabino is one of my favorite teachers at Tech so far. She makes class fun and interesting and allows us to connect to the material on a deeper level. Her reading and writing assignments were genuinely interesting and I could not have asked for a better experience.

Ms. Rabino was possible one of the best instructors I have had at Virginia Tech. She always had the highest level of respect for students. Most importantly, she gave us very detailed feedback on assignments which is instrumental in learning and improving.

Ms. Rabino opened the floor for participation. Each class she would clarify and answer every question that students had. She gave everyone equal opportunities to participate and ask any questions they may have.
Professor Rabino was overall a great instructor and I wished she taught more classes. She made a topic that semi-bored me into a world of fascination. I fell in love with consumer behavior and now apply it to current situations throughout my life. It’s obvious she has a passion for what she does and it is shown throughout her teaching. Most teachers believe that communication is just about talking and listening, but it is not. Communication is about connecting with your students; listening is expected.

Ms. Rabino was awesome. She presented the material clearly and in a very relatable fashion for college students. Her lectures were concise, she highlighted key points and she engaged the class. She made it clear what information was important and would be tested. This class definitely stimulated my interest in consumer behavior. I would love to take more classes like it, or just more classes with Professor Rabino in general.

Feedback from Virginia Tech's unsolicited student feedback program, "Thank a Teacher"

Hi Ms. Rabino, you are such a wonderful teacher & person! Thank you so much for a really fun semester. I always looked forward to your class. My roommates basically know everything I learned this semester because I’m always talking about the cool materials you share with us. Your passion for the subject is very obvious and admirable; it’s quite contagious, actually. While you were professional in conduct, I really appreciated that you were very approachable and fun! Thank you for such a wonderful experience, best wishes to you!
